Transforming Villages with Sunidhi

Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP) along with the CDFI team visited Raigad, Maharashtra to understand how the CDFI supported innovation SUNIDHI is being used for rural development and transformation. Housed at the World Bank, CGAP is a global partnership of more than 30 leading organizations that seek to advance financial inclusion.

Sunidhi is being used by Maharashtra Village Social Transformation Foundation to execute, track and manage its rural transformation program.

The program covers 1000 drought-affected villages with a low Human Development Index. It is a unique program where Government as well as corporate funds are being brought together to transform villages. Currently, rural transformation projects are getting implemented and monitored using Sunidhi in 400 villages.
