Sankalp Workshop in Chhattisgarh

Mar 15, 2017

A State level workshop was conducted at Raipur, Chhattisgarh to demonstrate the Version I of CDFI product - Scheme Design and Management System. The workshop was organised on March 15, 2017 at the Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) in Raipur. SANKALP has now been renamed as Scheme Analysis and Knowledge Aggregation for Launching Programs (SANKALP).

Mr. Alex Paul Menon, CEO, CHiPS chaired the workshop, which was attended by officials from the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Cell of Chhattisgarh and a State team designated to implement a new scheme specifically designed using SANKALP. The Version 1 of SANKALP has been developed using the SECC data of a district in Chhattisgarh. The application is now being hosted at the CHiPS server.

At the workshop, a user guide was shared with the participants to help them start using the platform as registered users. The features of the current platform were also discussed. Users provided feedback to make the system more usable and relevant to the government.

The workshop also opened the possibility for CDFI's involvement in the deliberation process for creating a Unified Household Database for Chhattisgarh. This database would be integrated with SANKALP at a later date.

The Chhattisgarh Government also said that two types of schemes will be used to carry out the SANKALP pilot - a live scheme as well as a scheme scheduled to be launched.
