Framework for Electronic Payments & Receipts in Government

Department of Electronic and Information technology (DeitY), Government of India envisages web-enabled anytime, anywhere access to information and services across the country, especially in rural and remote parts of India. Deity further envisages common e-Governance infrastructure that will offer end to end transactional experience for citizens, business and internal government functions which includes accessing various services through internet with payment gateway interface for online payment. DeitY has been working on integrating departments for electronic payments.

Various industry stakeholders participated and shared their views at the workshop. Shri J S Deepak, Secretary, DeitY chaired the workshop. Amongst the participants were Dr. Ajay Kumar, Additional Secretary, DeitY, Shri Rajeev Kumar, Joint Secretary, DeitY and representatives from NSDL, Banks such as Axis Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Canara Bank, HDFC Bank,ICICI Bank, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India, Payment service providers such as Bill Desk, CCAvenue, FINO PayTech, Mastercard, Techprocess Payments Services Ltd., State Bank of India ePay, the Centre for Digital Financial Inclusion and PwC.
