An Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) is a trained voluntary female community health activist who acts as an interface between the community and the public health system, hence making health facilities more accessible to the public, especially to the mother and child. Payments that ASHA workers receive for their valuable service, despite being intended to incentivise them, have been counterproductive due to issues such as constant delays and a lack of transparency in the payment process.
CDFI has developed a mobile and web-based solution - ASHA First, with end-to-end digital approval workflows, integrated with PFMS, to facilitate timely payments to ASHA workers in Meghalaya.
CM Meghalaya officially launched ASHA First on 9th March 2022.
