Hailakandi is a district in the north eastern state of Assam which was identified and selected as one to be transformed under the Government of India, NITI Aayog’s Aspirational district program. The Government of India launched the ‘Transformation of Aspirational Districts’ initiative in January, 2018 with a vision of a New India by 2022 where the focus is to improve India's ranking under Human Development Index by raising living standards of its citizens and ensuring inclusive growth of all.
CDFI partnered with the Government of Assam to support the Hailakandi district administration in tracking the activities being undertaken under this scheme and monitoring the outcomes.
Field visit to anganwadi
Using CDFI's digital data collection solution Sangrah, the district administration collected information on the health, education and nutrition levels of its citizen and monitoring these parameters through SANKALP (our data analytics platform) to boost rural development.
This was being done by engaging various anganwadi centers, sub health centers and schools as nodal points for collecting information about beneficiaries, ranging from school children to high risk pregnant women. More than 100 government officials, staff members, and last mile service providers were trained in using the data driven governance applications for data collection and analysis.
