Crowd sourcing, Rural Community Transformation and Social Audit

CDFI is also assisting the Government of Kerala in the ‘Rebuild Kerala’ programme. ‘Rebuild Kerala’ is an initiative by the Kerala Govt. to aid in the reconstruction, rehabilitation and overall recovery of the State of Kerala after devastating floods that affected many lives and their livelihoods. A Crowdfunding portal for collecting funds and tracking reconstruction projects under Rebuild Kerala initiative was launched by Chief Minister of Kerala on Oct 16, 2018. The portal crowd sources funds for helping people who lost personal assets and for building common community infrastructure. Such crowd sourced funds are being pooled in CM’s Distress Relief Fund but are being earmarked to be used only for person / institution for which it has been given by benefactor. This portal is powered by Sunidhi which has been developed and maintained by Centre for Digital Financial Inclusion and Billion Lives Business Initiative Pvt. Ltd.

Sunidhi is a web and cloud based product suite for end-to-end program and fund management. It can deliver different types of, individual or community level, benefit programs in cashless mode maintaining end-to-end track of progress and fund movement.

Therefore, this portal also provides end to end tracking of project activities, funds flow and outcomes. The benefactor is able to see the way his / her funds have been utilized and the outcome of his / her contribution. Further, facility to do Social audit of project activities undertaken will be also be made available to promote transparency and accountability.
